HI, I'M SAM
ABOUT ME
I am a Presidential Scholar at the University of Southern California studying Computational Neuroscience on the pre-med track and I am a part of the Freshman Science Honors cohort. I have a wide variety of passions, but I find I am most comfortable in the gray area between disciplines, whether that be neuroscience and linguistics, or medicine and politics, and I've had the opportunity to explore my interests through many research internships and conferences. My long-term goal is to attend medical school to become a neurosurgical oncologist.
Although heavily overlapping, my interests can be categorized into two main subject areas.
I'm fascinated by the intersection between medicine and public policy, and I realized I could combine my passions through global health.
A global health innovation event with hundreds of students from all over the world.
I highlight the need for greater implementation/ dissemination research in the current global health research pipeline.
I examine the potential of One Health practices to solve global health issues, and current obstacles preventing implementation.
