Partnership for Scientific Inquiry at OHSU
My Research
Through PSI I learned how to think like a researcher. The journal clubs and discussions greatly challenged not only my reading ability but also the way I synthesize information into a presentable format. I was pushed further with the review article presentation as I created a slideshow about the Cryo-EM structure of the 2019-nCoV spike in the prefusion conformation, working very closely with Dr. Theo Humphreys. Then, at the apotheosis of my time at PSI, I wrote and presented an original research proposal about the role of electrotherapy in Parkinson's Disease as a potential future medical countermeasure. The research proposal tested everything I learned throughout the course: how to read, write, and talk as a researcher.
Jonathan D. Lewis Scholarship
For my research at PSI, I was one of 15 students selected as a Jonathan D. Lewis Scholar for a $2,000 stipend to support my summer internship at the Raslan Translational Neurology Lab.
During my time as a student at PSI, I completed a review presentation as well as a novel research proposal. All documents featured below.
